Hi Guys (well Girls plus Josh :)
Recently I've been catching up on a couple episodes of the podcast that I missed and actually just finished hearing the one about the season finale of True Blood. You touched on the topic of the return of Reverend Steve and Russel Eddington's release and postulated that its impossible that their recent reappearences might be linked, that specifically, Reverened Steve might have had a role in freeding Russel Eddington and that he might be there to try to capture Jason because Eddington thinks he might be a fairy as well. Well, I'd like to venture a different hypothesis, what if Russel Eddington did sent Reverened Steve to capture Jason, but not necessarily for his blood, what if he sent Reverened Steve to capture him as a replacement for Talbot? I think it would sort of make sense, I mean we already know that Russel prefers the company of men, we know that Jason is attractive and we know that he must want revenge against Sookie, what better revenge than taking her brother forcefully to fulfill the role of the person's remains she took so much glee in destroying?
Just a thought :)
Louis
P.S. Have you guys read the novels on which the Vampire Diaries and the Secret Circle are based? I did when I was like 12 or 13 and they were pretty good, I'd recommend them.
"...to fulfill the role of the persons whose remains she took so much glee in destroying"
Sorry :P
P.S. You also mention the fact that Vampires as a general rule aren't monogamous (in relation to Jessica's reason for leaving Hoyt) do you feel that this would extent to Eric and Bill and any potential relationship they might have with Sookie in the future? Is any future relationship going to be an open one? And on the topics of relationships and vampires, have you guys ever given any thought to whom Pam might develop a romantic relationship with in the future? At first I thought it might be interesting if she developed one with Tara, but that seems like a bit of a stretch seeing as how rocky their relationship has been up to this point, but what about Ginger? They sure seemed pretty close during that one scene where they were together, and it might be kind of cool to see her develop as a character as shes confronted with the realities of trying to maintain a serious relationship with someone, rather than just casual ones. Lol and while I very much doubt theirs any possibility of this happening, it might be even cooler to see her develop some sort of romantic interest in Sookie, lol can you imagine what a disfunctional love-square that would be?
P.P.S. Hey guys, sorry to be monopolizing the comment's board but I just thought of another question I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on. Have you guys noticed that the oldest vampires on True Blood have been portrayed as sexually liberated, either bisexual or by de facto gay/lesbian (specifically Eric, Nan, Sophie Anne and Pam come to mind...and wasn't Eric's maker hinted to as potentially being gay as well?) well this got me wondering, do you think that the author of the original novels is hinting towards her personal beleif that we are all essentially bisexual at birth, and that only the need to conform to societal expectations make us strictly straight (for those who are) but that this impediment is slowly removed as one ages as a vampire? Or is it possible that these vampires just got bored with age, and decided to experiment for the hell of it? Eric does seem to prefer the company of woman, much more so than men if Pam's history of his sexual escapades are to be beleived, but he was pretty close to being intimately involved with Talbot, do you guys think this is reflective of his potential honest bisexuality or just another hobby adopted across the years to kill some time...can you honestly have sex with a gender your not attracted to though...no matter how long you live? Hmmm...food for thought.
P.P.S. Have you guys ever considered rereading the Ann Rice novels and having something of a book club to discuss them with my fellow podcast listeners and I? Although their not a movie and or tv show, they are pretty fangtastic, so I thought it might be fun :)
